The Rocher du HAT

At an altitude of 365 metres, Le Rocher du Hat is a natural promontory located between Florenville and Chiny. If you are happy to get your calf muscles working to reach this rocky outcrop, it offers a magnificent view overlooking a wide meander of the Semois.

As for the name of the site, there are several hypotheses: "Hat" could come from "hap", the root of "happer", and would refer to a kind of trap used by the Counts of Chiny to catch game. The term could also simply refer to a wood or to the exclamation of surprise that visitors have always uttered on discovering this spectacular place!
