The pont de claies footbridge
at LAFORÊT
Dismantled and reassembled every year, the Pont de Claies footbridge at Laforêt (Vresse-sur-Semois) was once used by tobacco growers, farmers and livestock. Today, this structure made up of 75 panels of woven hornbeam ("claies"), placed on pillars set into the riverbed, is used mainly by visitors who appreciate its picturesque appearance. This bridge, which is around 80 metres long, is also used by walkers following one of the signposted routes that pass through there.
