One of the National Park's initiatives is to encourage the return of the lynx to its territory. To achieve this, a series of initiatives are being carried out jointly with numerous partners, particularly to improve connectivity between our forest areas and those located in neighboring countries.

On the occasion of International Lynx Day (celebrated on June 11), the Semois Valley National Park invites you to learn more about this magnificent big cat, through three events

June 9 (1 p.m.-6 p.m.) - Lynx Festival at Cellier du Baudet in Bertrix

On the afternoon of June 9 (1 p.m.-6 p.m.), a series of stands and activities will be offered at the Cellier du Baudet in Bertrix, in partnership with the GT Natagora Loup:

  • discovery of the footprints of large predators;

  • identification of skulls;

  • Memory on the lynx;

  • Outdoor treasure hunt;

  • Kamishibai Tale;

  • etc.

This is the perfect opportunity to learn more, as a family and in a fun way, about this impressive species and about large predators in general.

Alongside these activities, the Cellier du Baudet will offer you a bar and light meals.

Free entry.

June 11 (7:30 p.m.): screening of the film "On the Trail of the Lynx" at Ciné Bouillon

Like last year, we invite you to attend the screening of a film about the lynx. This time, it's a documentary by Matthieu Maillet entitled "On the Trail of the Lynx." Filmed in the Swiss Jura, this film follows Neil Villard, a 36-year-old naturalist tracker, in search of Europe's largest feline: the Eurasian lynx.

At the end of the broadcast, we will offer you a moment of discussion with Cécile Lesire, Lynx project manager for the National Park and Corentin Rousseau, biologist at WWF Belgium, an organization that supports our action.

Evening program:

7:30 p.m.: Introductory speech;

7:45 p.m.: Screening of the film “On the Trail of the Lynx” (52 minutes);

8:45 p.m.: Presentation by Cécile Lesire and Corentin Rousseau in connection with the film and question and answer session;

9:30 p.m.: End of the evening.
