Saint-Nicolas
BRIDGE
Located at a strategic point in the Semois Valley, between the Ardennes and Gaume, Saint-Nicolas bridge, made of wood, was built as early as the 12th century and destroyed several times. The current version is an exact copy of the French stone bridge built around 1740 and destroyed during the German invasion in 1940.
On its right parapet is a stone tablet representing Saint-Nicolas, patron saint of fishermen and boatmen, and the coat of arms of the town of Chiny. The site is surrounded by tourist attractions, including a playground, kayak launch area, barbecue area, etc.
